This is a special Father’s Day Craft for kids of all ages. Our momstown Newmarket-Aurora moms and kids had a fun time making these keep sake fingerprint key chains for daddy this Father’s Day.
Materials:
Fimo (you can pick up different coloured clay at your local craft store. You only need a small amount per key chain. These were 2oz blocks and we could make around 8 per block.)
metal cookie cutters in a variety of shapes that Dad will love
toothpicks
your child's hand
Directions:
1. Cut out a piece of clay (you can get 8 from a 2oz package) and roll it out flat. Make sure it's not too thin and try to get it as even as possible.
2. Using metal cookie cutters, cute the desired shape (plastic work, but are a bit harder to use).
3. Take your child's thumb and press it into the clay. If you don't like they way it looks, you can roll the clay into a ball and start over.
4. We used toothpicks to write our child's name or a little note and puncture a hole for the key chain.
5. Bake your finished key chain in the oven at 230F for no more then 30 minutes. This will harden the clay so it will keep its shape.
Daddy will love this special Father's Day craft that was super easy, quick, inexpensive and great for children of all ages.
