Coming up with a new and creative way to say “I Love You” to mom can get tricky! Here’s a great way to use photos to create the perfect keepsake for Mother’s Day this year!
This creative card has a few steps, so it's really a great teacher's craft for Mother's Day too! Kids at school can take photos and work on this over time. Our moms and kids worked on the project over a few weeks.
Materials:
camera
printer (or send it to be printed)
glue
"I", "Love" and "You" printed and cut out
washable paint
cardstock
printed page with poem
Directions:
Step 1:
Make the "I", "Love" and "You" 3 signs, and have the children hold them up in front of the camera. If there is only one child, take 3 separate shots of them holding the three words. If there are 2 kids, you can have each child home one word along and the third word together. If there are 3 children, each child can hold one word.
Send the photos to your local printing store to be printed in 4×6 size.
Step 2:
Make handprints on a pre-printed sheet that contains the following Mother's Day poem;
Mother's Day Poem
I miss you when we're not together I'm growing up so fast See how big I've gotten Since you saw me last As I grow, I'll change a lot The years will fly right by You'll wonder how I grew so quick When and where and why So look upon this handprint That's hanging on your wall And memories will come back of me When I was very small
Step 3:
When the handprints dry, glue the photos onto the paper above the handprints. You can leave them in their 4×6 shape or cut around the child to make room.
Decorate the page as you like! We added "Mom" with scrapbook paper.
The moms really enjoyed the craft and were really surprised by the photos!
