At Quaker Chewy, we think one of the best things about going back to school is lunch! Unfortunately, there are families in Canada who do not have enough food to make meals before, during and after school. As September nears, we’re starting a new program to help those in need.
Beginning August 14, Chewy is asking families across Canada to join the fun by taking pictures of their children’s artwork and submitting it to ChewyForCharity.ca. To celebrate the fact that Chewy is made with 100% Canadian whole grain oats, the brand is asking parents and kids to get creative and come up with their own ‘Canadian-inspired’ designs.
For every piece of art received, the brand will donate the equivalent of ten pounds of food to Food Banks Canada. It’s an important cause – Food Banks Canada reports that 36% of the estimated 1.7 million Canadians turning to food banks in 2013 were children and youth.
momstown chapter's accross Canada hosted Art and Play programs called Picasso's In The Park where families gathered and created masterpieces to support the Chewy For Charity campaign, ate Quaker Chewy Granola bars, had FUN and took home yummy loot bags!
A virtual art gallery of all the final submitted designs will be showcased on ChewyForCharity.ca. Parents can even choose to have their child’s artwork printed on a customized canvas lunch bag and shipped just in time for the new school year.
Chewy is the leading family-oriented granola bar and proudly made in Peterborough, Ontario. Quaker Chewy has been feeding Canadian families for 30 years, providing them with wholesome, innovative and great-tasting products for kids’ lunches and snack-time rituals.
The Quaker brand was the first in the industry to introduce a peanut-free option for lunchboxes in 2006, and now all Quaker Chewy granola bars are made in a peanut-free facility. Quaker Chewy boasts a lineup of nine delicious flavours including the new Yogurt Strawberry and Banana granola bar – the first peanut-free yogurt granola bar in Canada.
Every Quaker Chewy bar is made with 10 grams of Canadian whole grain oats and is endorsed by the Whole Grains Council of Canada.
