We are thrilled to be bringing this French program sponsored by Scholastic Canada to moms and kids in Newmarket and Aurora.
Contes pour les bouts d'choux!
Tales for Tots in FRENCH!
momstown’s monthly book selection is shared in storytime, proudly sponsored by literacy partner Scholastic Canada. Enjoy a craft to match the book’s theme and one lucky parent will win a copy of the book!
This month we read:
Chut! Mon frere fait dodo
By: Ruth Ohi
There's nothing better than a sleeping child – and nothing harder than keeping an exuberant sibling quiet for that precious naptime. Ruth Ohi's expressive art captures a scene familiar to every young family in this charming book that will delight children and parents alike.
Our fabulous mom Amie and her kids won a brand new copy to take home.
After we read the book, we made these cute little mice together.
Materials: Chocolate kisses, form, ribbon, google eyes, glue and scissors.
Partaily unwrap one kiss and add a small piece of ribbon as a tail and wrap it back up to hold the tail in place (if you plan to eat the chocolate after, do NOT use glue to hold the tail in place). We cut out mice ears from the foam and glued them between 2 chocolate kisses. Glue on goggle eyes and let it set to dry. We used the scissors handles to hold everything in place while they dried.
They came out great!
Join us next month and we read a new book.
